•POWERS/ABILITIES ☆ Doumeki has the technique of exorcising spirits by shooting them with an invisible arrow made of pure energy. His skills as an archer help him in this endeavor.

Originally Doumeki could not see the spirits/ghosts that Watanuki could see, but after he shared both his blood and half his eye with Watanuki he was able to eventually see and experience what Watanuki goes through.

•PERSONALITY ☆ He has a cool, calm and often sarcastic demeanor. He barely speaks unless explaining folklore or asking Watanuki for impossible bento lunches (such as asking for food that is out of season or hard to find). He also has a deadpan sense of humor that is often dark and somewhat fatalistic. Much to the annoyance of Watanuki he seems to pop up everywhere, especially when Watanuki gets a chance to be with Himawari. He often replies in a one word phrase like "Hn" or "Oh". He is also very observant, and even though he does not show it he seems to be very protective of Watanuki

•APPEARANCE ☆ He has short dark brown/black hair, amber eyes, and his face is usually set in a blank expression more often than not. He is usually always in his school clothes, Shinto wear, or in his uniform for Archery practice.

•HISTORY ☆ Doumeki Shizuka is the grandson of Doumeki Haruka, a Shinto priest that ran their family temple. Like his grandfather, Shizuka has retained the ability to exorcise spirits, though he is not as powerful as his grandfather had been.

Unlike Haruka, Shizuka is incapable of seeing spirits as materialized forms. As a child it was known that he was sickly, and due to a Japanese custom, was made to wear female Kimonos as a means of strengthening him. Though he is seen to eat a lot, Doumeki is actually a very picky eater and will rarely eat things if not made a certain a way. For the most part Doumeki is seen around Watanuki and usually during missions that they are both sent on by Yuuko (Watanuki’s boss and owner of a wish granting shop) Doumeki’s main job is to keep spirits from trying to eat Watanuki, not only with his natural repelling aura, but by also materializing an arrow with his bow that can pierce through them.

Two main important events that occurred with Doumeki involve the Spider’s Grudge in which he gave up half his eyesight so that Watanuki would no longer be blind, because of this shared sight, Doumeki is capable of seeing things, including spirits, when Watanuki’s is experiencing moments of emotional duress. The second connection occurred when Watanuki fell out of a window, hurting himself severely. Before this moment Doumeki was incapable of entering or even seeing Yuuko’s shop, after this though him and Himawari (Watanuki’s crush) were both within the house to make a wish in order to save Watanuki’s life. Himawari now bares his scars and Doumeki had given up most of his own blood to keep Watanuki alive.
